Joshua’s Bio
Joshua R. Kon, or as his friends and clients call him, “Josh,” is an assertive, responsive and conscientious litigator, as well as a resourceful business attorney. He applies cost effective problem-solving to his clients’ high-stake disputes. His clients’ problems turn into his problems – and his burden to bear – so that these high-level business leaders can direct their time, energy and attention to succeeding in their businesses and not getting bogged down in stressful legal quandaries. Josh regularly practices in courtrooms at all levels of the legal process, including appeals, complex commercial and real estate litigation, lender liability, judgment collection, partnership disputes, professional malpractice, trusts, incapacity, guardianship, and probate. Josh’s professional accomplishments include substantial multi-million-dollar judgments, settlements and other victories for his clients, as well as numerous transactional matters drafted and negotiated to completion. It is always better to have a well-drafted document going into any business venture, than to be forced to hire a litigator to resolve disputes that inevitably arise after the fact. Josh has been fortunate to have appeals heard by numerous state and federal appellate courts, including a Petition for Writ of Certiorari against an international banking corporation that was accepted by the United States Supreme Court.
A father of four, Josh approaches his clients’ problems with the knowledge gained both from his broad private-practice experience and a rich family life. He is also deeply committed to his community, serving on executive boards for charitable and religious institutions, and representing numerous not-for-profit organizations assisting these charities to raise much needed funds so that they can continue their good works. Josh was inspired to become an attorney following his studies of Talmudic law. Prior to graduating with multiple honors and summa cum laude from Nova Southeastern University Law School, Josh owned and managed a successful business with locations in Miami and New York. That experience is invaluable when crafting unique legal solutions to his clients’ business problems, having experienced those business challenges first-hand. More invaluable still is working in a leadership role with the strong team of diverse minds that make up the law firm of Stok Kon + Braverman.
