ALEXA MARTINEZ - Committed Litigation Attorney Advocating for Clients
Alexa Martinez is an accomplished litigation attorney with nearly a decade of experience, known for her strategic approach and unwavering commitment to client advocacy. A Cuban-American and Miami native, Alexa earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University. She began her legal education locally at St. Thomas University College of Law, where she ranked first in her class and earned eight CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for top scores in Property Law, Torts, Contracts, Legal Writing and Research, and Civil Procedure. Alexa continued her studies at Georgetown University Law Center, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree.
While in law school, she participated in the Rising for Justice clinic (formerly D.C. Law Students in Court). She represented low-income tenants facing eviction in landlord-tenant proceedings in Washington, D.C., providing critical legal support as part of her pro bono commitment. Alexa further honed her legal skills through an esteemed internship representing indigent defendants in criminal proceedings at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office and by serving as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Peter R. Lopez in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, where she gained valuable insights into judicial decision-making processes.
Alexa has represented both individuals and businesses, offering tailored and effective legal solutions. Her courtroom experience, including trial work, underscores her capabilities as a skilled advocate. She practices in both state and federal courts, with a primary focus on business torts, commercial litigation, personal injury, and first-party property claims, and maintains a strong foundation across a broad spectrum of practice areas.
Outside the legal realm, Alexa is an accomplished artist specializing in resin and mixed media, creating intricate, nature-inspired pieces featuring insects, butterflies, and other organic elements that reflect her appreciation for the natural world. This connection to nature extends to her home life, which she shares with a beloved rescue Pit Bull mix and an energetic Australian Shepherd, as well as a collection of exotic animals, all of whom add vibrancy and balance to her life outside the courtroom.
